Our focus

Small signs. Important conversations.

Explore the concerns families bring to the clinic. There is space to ask questions, understand what is happening, and take the next step.

Attention, memory & school performance

Understood today. Forgotten tomorrow.

Difficulty retaining lessons, following instructions, copying from the board, or staying focused can affect confidence as well as schoolwork. Assessment considers learning, development, sleep, and everyday functioning.

Persistent bedwetting

Difficult nights deserve a thoughtful approach.

Night-time wetting can affect children, teenagers, and adults, including people over 30. We review the pattern, sleep, previous assessments, and other symptoms to discuss appropriate care and any further referrals.

Fear & anxiety

When little things feel overwhelming.

Persistent fears, difficulty separating from parents, school avoidance, or withdrawal from friends can make daily life harder. A careful assessment explores the symptoms and their impact.

Stuttering that varies

Space to speak. Time to be heard.

Stuttering may change with the situation or level of stress. Assessment considers speech and language needs, with speech-language or other specialist input where appropriate.

Stool leakage (encopresis)

Sensitive concerns. Support without blame.

Involuntary stool leakage deserves a supportive, blame-free assessment. Reviewing constipation and other bowel concerns with a paediatric or gastrointestinal clinician is an important part of care.

Sleep difficulties

Understanding restless nights.

Trouble falling asleep, disrupted nights, or daytime tiredness can affect attention and family routines. Bring a description of the sleep pattern and any previous assessments.

What to expect from your care

A detailed first visit, an individual plan, and follow-up informed by how you or your child responds.

  1. Understand the whole picture

Discuss your concerns, medical and developmental history, sleep, school experiences, and previous tests. Bring relevant reports and a current medication list.

  2. Discuss assessment & treatment

The clinic uses structured cognitive assessment and quantitative EEG (QEEG). Discuss the purpose and limitations of any proposed test, and the benefits, risks, and alternatives of treatment.

  3. Review progress together

A planned review around two months helps assess progress and adjust care. Earlier review may be needed. Some treatment plans continue for one to two years; duration depends on individual needs.

QEEG does not establish the cause of every attention or learning difficulty and should not be used to diagnose ADHD. Treatment response and timing vary; no outcome or fixed improvement date is guaranteed.

Questions families often ask

What age groups do you see?

The practice primarily focuses on children and adolescents. Selected adult cases are also seen, including persistent bedwetting in adults over 30. Contact the clinic to discuss whether an appointment is suitable.

Previous tests were normal. Can we still request an assessment?

Yes. Bring your previous results and describe the difficulties that continue. Normal routine tests do not answer every clinical question, but they do not by themselves indicate a hidden neurological disorder. Further assessment depends on the history and examination.

Will my child need QEEG or cognitive testing?

The clinic offers cognitive assessment and QEEG. Ask which tests are proposed, why they are being considered, and how they could inform care. QEEG should not be used to diagnose ADHD; test findings need careful interpretation within the broader clinical assessment.

Should changing or stress-related stuttering be assessed?

If stuttering concerns you or affects communication, discuss a speech-language assessment. Variability or worsening with stress does not on its own show that a separate neurological condition is present. Further evaluation depends on the full history and symptoms.

Can teenagers and adults seek help for bedwetting?

Yes. Persistent bedwetting warrants assessment of possible contributing factors and previous treatment. Available options and expected progress depend on the individual; response and timing vary from person to person.

How soon might treatment help, and how long does it last?

Response varies with the diagnosis, treatment, and patient. Progress is reviewed and treatment adjusted as needed. Some plans may continue for one to two years, while others differ; the doctor will discuss the expected course with you.

What about medication safety?

If medication is recommended, the doctor will discuss its expected benefits, possible side effects, alternatives, and monitoring. No medicine is risk-free; follow-up helps review both response and tolerability.

Can you help with travel or an interpreter?

Yes. Ask about flight-booking assistance, airport transfers, hotels, optional sightseeing, and an interpreter when you request an appointment. Please confirm availability and costs before booking travel.
